Grief counselling is recommended for all those struggling the waves of loss. These waves start off huge, uncontrollable and relentless. They leave us feeling isolated and alone. We grab onto anything to help ourselves keep afloat. Sometimes this anything is self destructive; sometimes it is helpful. No-one can take your loss of a loved one away. However, someone can help you navigate the waves together. They will eventually become more predictable, lower and calmer. But you will need that life jacket at times.
As the pandemic has evolved, with many losing loved ones, jobs and support, there is also huge adjustment and changes in those who have experienced Covid loss. Some present with a Complicated Grief Reaction and/ or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
